QuadPlay is built with a simple privacy principle: we don't want your data. There are no user accounts, no analytics, and no tracking of any kind. Almost everything happens on your Apple TV and your phone. The one exception is pairing on networks that block devices from talking to each other — hotels and conference centres, mostly — where your video links pass briefly through a relay we run. Section 2 explains exactly what that holds and for how long.
Short version: We do not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, and there is no account to create. On most networks your video links never leave your Wi‑Fi. Where the network forbids that, they pass through our pairing relay, which holds them for minutes and then deletes them. Subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple.
No personal information. QuadPlay does not ask for your name, email address or anything else about you. There is no account, no sign‑in, and no profile. The app contains no analytics, tracking, advertising SDKs, or crash reporting tools.
The only data that ever reaches us is what a pairing session needs, and only when the relay is used: a randomly generated session identifier, the four‑digit code shown on your TV screen, and the video links you submit. None of it is tied to you, your device, or an identity of any kind, and it is deleted within minutes. Details in Section 2.
QuadPlay lets you watch up to eight videos at the same time on your Apple TV, arranged to fit the screen. To make the pairing experience easier, the app runs a small web server on your Apple TV that is reachable only from devices on the same local Wi‑Fi network — usually your phone.
Where your network allows it, scanning the QR code sends your video links straight from your phone to your Apple TV over your local Wi‑Fi. Nothing reaches us, and we have no visibility into it at all. This is what happens on a home or office network.
Guest networks in hotels, conference centres and tradeshow venues deliberately stop devices on them from reaching each other. On those networks the method above cannot work, so QuadPlay hands the links to a small relay we operate instead, and your Apple TV collects them from there. Your phone and TV each connect outward to the relay; they never connect to each other.
The app decides this for you and shows which method it is using on the pairing screen. If your Apple TV has no internet connection, the relay isn't used at all.
What the relay holds: a random session identifier, the four‑digit code on your TV screen, and the video links you submit (up to eight). Nothing else — no account, no device identifier, no name, no location.
How long: minutes. A session expires ten minutes after the last activity and is then erased outright, and no session can live longer than twelve hours regardless. Closing the pairing screen tells the relay to erase the session there and then, so in normal use the links are gone the moment you finish.
What we don't do with it: we do not log the links, we do not read them, we do not analyse them, and we do not keep copies. The relay exists to move them from one of your devices to another and then forget them.
When QuadPlay plays a video, your Apple TV connects directly to whatever service hosts that video (for example, Dropbox, Google Drive, or another video host). Those services have their own privacy policies and may log standard request information such as your IP address. We have no involvement in or visibility into those connections.
QuadPlay offers an auto‑renewable subscription that is purchased and managed through Apple's App Store. We do not see, handle, or store your payment information. Apple shares with us only the information needed to verify that you have an active subscription (an opaque, app‑specific transaction identifier). We do not receive your name, email address, billing address, or payment method.
You can view, manage, or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad. For details on how Apple processes payment information, please see the Apple Privacy Policy.
QuadPlay saves information locally on your Apple TV so the app behaves the way you expect: the video links you pasted, any scenes you named and the one currently showing, the labels you toggled, and a few interface preferences.
Copies of your videos. So a wall keeps playing when a venue's Wi‑Fi drops, QuadPlay downloads the videos you add and keeps them on the Apple TV, up to twenty gigabytes. The oldest are removed first once that fills up. It also downloads the videos in scenes you aren't currently watching, in the background, so switching to one is immediate — it won't do this over a cellular or otherwise metered connection.
All of this lives only on your Apple TV, is never sent anywhere, and is removed when you delete the app.
QuadPlay does not embed any third‑party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. The only third‑party services involved are:
QuadPlay is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect any information from anyone — including children. If you believe a child has somehow provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will confirm it. A pairing session holds no information about a person — only a code and some video links, deleted within minutes — so there is nothing to identify a child, or anyone else, by.
We hold no database of users, because there are no users to hold. Your preferences and your subscription receipt live on your Apple device, protected by Apple's platform security.
Pairing sessions are reachable only by their random identifier, which is long enough that guessing a live one is not realistic, and are protected by the four‑digit code shown on your TV. Repeated wrong guesses are throttled and then locked out. All traffic to the relay is encrypted in transit, and every session is erased on a timer whether or not it was used.
You have the right to know what personal information we have about you, to request its deletion, and to opt out of any processing. The honest answer to all three is the same: we do not have any personal information about you.
If you would like written confirmation of this for your records, or if you have a question about how the app handles data on your device, please contact us at the address below.
QuadPlay is available wherever Apple distributes apps. Because the app does not transmit personal information to us, no cross‑border data transfer occurs as a result of using QuadPlay. Your interactions with Apple's App Store and with any third‑party video hosts are governed by their respective privacy policies.
If we ever change how the app handles data — for example, if a future version adds an optional cloud‑sync feature — we will update this policy and revise the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will also be reflected in the app's release notes on the App Store.
