Getting Started

How do I add videos to QuadPlay?

Open QuadPlay on your Apple TV. You'll see a QR code on screen. Scan it with your phone's camera, enter the four‑digit code shown on the TV, then paste your video links and tap Save. They start playing instantly.

Add as many links as you want, up to eight. However many you add is how many play at once, and QuadPlay arranges them to fit — four gives you the classic 2×2, eight gives you two rows of four.

What kinds of video links work?

Direct‑playable video URLs work best. That includes:

Links that require login or don't return a video file (regular YouTube page links, paywalled streams, etc.) won't play.

Can I save more than one set of videos?

Yes. When you send videos from your phone there's a Name this scene box — call it something like "Booth loop". Send a second set under a different name and you have two scenes; send one under a name you've already used and it updates that scene instead.

On the Apple TV, swipe down to the menu bar and choose Scenes to switch between them. QuadPlay quietly downloads the videos in your other scenes while you're not watching them, so switching is instant rather than making you wait for them to load.

Why isn't my phone connecting to the Apple TV?

Look at the line under the QR code on your TV — it tells you which of two ways QuadPlay is pairing.

"Phone must be on the same Wi‑Fi as the Apple TV." Your phone is talking to the TV directly, so both devices have to be on the same network. If you have a guest or IoT network, put both on the main one. Toggling Wi‑Fi on the phone often helps if the page won't load.

"Works from any phone — Wi‑Fi or cellular." Your Apple TV has internet, so pairing goes through our relay and your phone can be on anything at all, including mobile data. If the page won't load, check the phone actually has a connection.

Does this work at a hotel or a tradeshow?

Yes. Guest networks in hotels and conference centres deliberately stop devices on them from reaching each other, which breaks the direct method. QuadPlay detects this and pairs through our relay instead — your phone doesn't even need to join the venue's Wi‑Fi, mobile data is fine.

The one case that still needs the same network is an Apple TV with no internet at all, such as a travel router with nothing plugged into it. Then QuadPlay falls back to direct pairing and the phone has to join that same router.

Subscription

How does the subscription work?

QuadPlay is an auto‑renewing monthly subscription managed through Apple's App Store. Your payment method on file with Apple is charged each month until you cancel.

How do I cancel?

On any iPhone or iPad signed in with the same Apple ID, open Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions, tap QuadPlay, and tap Cancel Subscription. You'll keep access until the end of your current billing period. Apple does not charge a cancellation fee.

I was charged but the app says I'm not subscribed.

On the QuadPlay paywall, choose Restore Purchases. This asks Apple to reattach your existing subscription to this device. If that doesn't work, email us and we'll help.

Refunds

All purchases are processed by Apple, so refunds go through Apple too. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find QuadPlay, and request a refund.

Troubleshooting

A video won't play.

Read the message on the tile first — QuadPlay names what went wrong with that particular link. If you want to check the link yourself, paste it into Safari on your phone: if it doesn't play there, the Apple TV can't play it either. The reverse isn't a guarantee, though, because browsers play some formats Apple TV doesn't. For Dropbox links, paste the link exactly as Dropbox copies it — don't edit the end of the URL yourself. Check that it points at a single video rather than a folder, and that sharing is set to "Anyone with the link." QuadPlay tells you on screen which of those is wrong.

The screen goes dark or the screensaver shows up.

QuadPlay disables the screensaver while it's open, but if Apple TV goes to sleep, just press any button on the remote to wake it up. If this keeps happening, please email us — we'd like to know.

How do I expand one video to fullscreen?

Use the remote to focus a screen (a thin highlight appears around it), then press the touch surface or Select button. Press Menu / Back to return to the grid.

Still stuck?

Email hello@quadplay.app with a short description of the problem and, if possible, which Apple TV model you're using. We'll get back to you within a business day.
