Short version: QuadPlay now supports up to eight simultaneous videos instead of four, lets you save named Scenes and switch between them instantly, pairs your phone to the Apple TV over cellular data when local networks won't allow it, and adds a $199 one-time Lifetime purchase alongside the existing monthly subscription.
Up to eight videos, not just four
However many links you paste from your phone, from one to eight, is how many play at once. QuadPlay figures out the layout automatically: four videos still gives you the familiar 2×2 grid, and eight arranges into two rows of four. There’s no picker or setting, because the number of links you send is the layout.
Scenes: save a wall, switch back to it instantly
If you’ve ever wanted to flip between a few different video walls without re-pasting links every time, that’s what Scenes are for. From your phone, name a set of links something like “Lobby loop” or “Product demo.” Send a second set under a different name and you’ve got a second Scene. On the Apple TV, a Scenes button switches between them.
Switching is fast on purpose: QuadPlay quietly downloads the videos in Scenes you aren’t currently watching, in the background, so the first switch is as fast as every one after it. A clip that appears in two different Scenes never has to reload, even if it moves to a different tile.
Pairing that works from anywhere
Some networks, like hotel guest Wi-Fi or conference-center and corporate guest networks, deliberately block devices from connecting directly to each other, which used to mean pairing simply didn’t work there. QuadPlay now detects this and routes pairing through a relay instead: your phone can be on cellular data entirely, and your Apple TV just needs an internet connection. Nothing about how you use it changes. QuadPlay picks the right method automatically and shows you which one it’s using.
Live streams
Paste a live HLS (.m3u8) link and QuadPlay plays it as a live stream, with a red LIVE badge instead of the caching progress bar that wouldn’t mean anything for something that isn’t a fixed-length file.
A Lifetime option, alongside the subscription

Everything else keeps working the way it did
No accounts, no sign-ins, no settings screen, no changes to how Google Drive, Dropbox, or direct video links are handled. The point of this release was to do more within the same “paste a link and it plays” idea, not to add complexity on top of it.
